Event Selection Guide
Choosing the right craft fair is one of the biggest factors in your success. A great booth at the wrong event can still lead to poor sales. Choose events that match your products, pricing, and ideal customers.
Know your target customer
Not every event attracts the same audience — a high-end jewelry booth performs very differently at a school fundraiser vs. an upscale juried art fair. Audience fit matters most.
Look at the event type
Community markets suit gifts and impulse buys; holiday markets suit gift-focused products; juried art shows suit fine art and premium goods; school/church fundraisers suit affordable, approachable products.
Evaluate the booth fee, reputation, timing, and location
Compare the fee to realistic sales; research vendor return rates and organizer responsiveness; match products to season; and check parking, foot traffic, and indoor/outdoor. Watch for red flags like poor organizer communication and vague traffic numbers.
